About Hogsmeade Geneology
This is an attempt at a fictional family tree to be created for use at: charmingrp.com A Victorian Harry Potterworld. I hope it can be of use and is just for fun. I'd love for everybody to become involved so we can see the degree of interrelatedness of our characters.
General notes include:
1) If you would like to be involved send a request/invitation and I'll be sure to add you, please be sure to tell 'Jen' on charming because she no longer able to receive automatic alerts about new invitations.
2) Women are referred to by their maiden names so as to prevent confusion and allow us to track blood connections easier. There is a way to show marriage so we shouldn't have to do it with the nee, or renaming.
3) If you do not know the identity of a person (first name, last name, either) just add a question mark to show the persons identity.
4) Most families that only have one child simply have unplotted relations. If you wish to add relatives simply ask the person who is involved in the family. 5) Please don't upload photos even if it's an option. It slows down some of the features and the website will only let you upload a total of 50 photos... and since we have more than fifty characters it just isn't possible to upload photos of everybody. It is in my experience unfair to not give everybody the same opportunities so therefore if it is unavailable to some it is unavailable to all.

Getting Around There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool. |
